Full Biography

Luisa Fernanda Hernández is a Mexican flutist and multidisciplinary creative whose work exists at the intersection of musical performance, cultural communication, and contemporary performing arts. Her artistic practice combines flute performance with visual storytelling, supertitling, stage communication, and creative media developed for orchestral, educational, and interdisciplinary artistic environments. Originally from Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, she began her musical studies at an early age, developing a particular interest in the flute and piccolo. She pursued her academic training at the Centro de Estudios Musicales and later at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), where she has continued to refine her technical and interpretative development.

Throughout her artistic career, Luisa has participated in a variety of orchestral and musical ensembles, including the Torreón Youth Orchestra, the UANL Faculty of Music Orchestra, the UANL Faculty of Music Wind Band, the Opera Studio Orchestra, and the State Band of Saltillo. Her orchestral activity has led her to perform in important national and international venues such as Teatro Isauro Martínez in Torreón, Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, Teatro de la Ciudad in Monterrey, Teatro Ricardo Castro in Durango, the Aula Magna and Teatro Universitario of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, as well as the Congress Hall in Austria. Internationally, she has been selected in two consecutive editions to participate in the World Adult Wind Orchestra Project (WAWOP) in Austria, an experience that has strengthened her artistic and musical projection within an international context.

As part of her complementary artistic training, she has participated in masterclasses with internationally recognized flutists including Tadeu Coelho, Alberto Almaraz, Mark Sparks, Leone Buyse, Kelly Zimba, and Joanna G’froerer, among others, enriching both her interpretative and pedagogical perspective. Currently, Luisa is pursuing the Artist Diploma in Flute program at OAcademy, where she continues to develop her artistic performance and collaborative musicianship. In parallel with her performance career, she works as a flute instructor within the Esperanza Azteca program, contributing to the education and artistic development of new generations of musicians. She also performs as piccolo player with the Wind Band of the Faculty of Music at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.

Alongside her work as a performer, Luisa has developed specialized experience in communication and media for the performing arts, contributing to projects related to cultural promotion, digital communication, artistic branding, audience engagement, and stage communication for music and theatrical productions. A significant part of her interdisciplinary work focuses on supertitling and visual communication for live performance, exploring the relationship between language, accessibility, performance, and visual narrative within contemporary artistic experiences. Through her ongoing artistic and professional development, Luisa continues to explore new ways of integrating music, visual storytelling, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration into meaningful artistic experiences that connect performers, productions, and audiences across contemporary cultural contexts.
